Join children’s author and illustrator Allison Parkinson at Orpington Library on Monday May 13 at 2.00 pm for 45 minutes of noisy rhyming fun in a special Storytime as part of Orpington Literary Festival!
Roar with a magnificent tiger and discover what’s hiding behind the door of a mysterious clock as she reads her picture books: Tiger Tale and Tick-Tock. There’ll also be time for some colouring activities afterwards.
Allison's books celebrate diversity and take young readers on fun and educational adventures. She was inspired to start writing stories when her daughters were younger because they found it impossible to find books where the central character was a mixed-race girl, like them. By basing many of her characters and illustrations on her daughters, she hopes to do her small bit to help more children see themselves at the centre of adventures.
