Orpington Businesses Against Crime | OBAC

The Orpington Businesses Against Crime (OBAC) scheme provides local business owners and managers with the tools to more effectively, and legally, share information in the fight against crime.

Membership of Orpington Businesses Against Crime (OBAC), free for BID members, provides access to the DISC online information sharing system which can be accessed through the website or via smartphone by downloading the secure DISC App free of charge.

Once logged in, users can view Mugshot Galleries to search for images of Known Offenders, add incident reports and keep up to date with any relevant news.

OBAC strengthens the Orpington business community's ties with the Met Police. By sharing information and building evidence, Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs) can be imposed on prolific offenders, which if breached can make it easier to remove criminals from our town centre. We've already had positive results, a known offender was sentenced to prison time for breaching the conditions of his CBO - which was secured through partnership working and information sharing.

Members using the app benefit from quick and secure login with a pin code, the use of voice-to-text to complete free-text elements of reports quickly, the ability to transfer images from CCTV to the DISC system using your phone's built in camera, and the option to receive Push Notifications on your phone, for urgent, important alerts.
