Biggin Hill Airport becomes title sponsor of Bromley FC Women’s Team

London Biggin Hill Airport is delighted to kick off the 2024/25 football season as the title sponsor of Bromley Football Club’s Women’s Team.

The collaboration is the next step in the airport’s ongoing commitment to promote gender diversity and champion increasing female accessibility, to both football and aviation, within the London Borough of Bromley.

As title sponsor, the airport is providing significant financial backing over the 2024/25 season, including sponsorship of the women’s team kit and support for wider initiatives to enhance the visibility and aspirations of female athletes in the borough.

David Winstanley, Chief Executive Officer at London Biggin Hill Airport, said: “We have a well-established and purposeful relationship with Bromley Football Club. Having initially partnered to support the Bromley FC Community Trust Women & Girls’ Provision in 2023, we are excited to build on our association to help the growth of the women’s game in Bromley.

We are passionate about supporting local causes that benefit local people, and this latest commitment is a pivotal step forward in promoting equal opportunities for women and girls, of every age and background, both on the pitch and in the world of aerospace and engineering.”

Andrea Ellis, Head of Women and Girls, said: “London Biggin Hill Airport have played such an important role in the growth of the female game at community level, so it is an exciting moment to welcome their record-breaking support to the Women’s First Team.

The sponsorship will not only propel the women’s team but will provide a route for women and girls to realise their aspirations and increase their visibility within Bromley Football Club. We are excited to build on our partnership with the airport as we look forward to the start of the women’s season.”

The airport is also continuing as the lead partner for the Bromley Football Club Community Trust’s Women & Girls’ Community Provision. The initiative, launched in 2022, aims to increase female participation in football within the Bromley community and has had remarkable results; achieving a 200% increase in women playing recreational football at the club in the last year alone.

London Biggin Hill Airport is committed to ensuring that the local community feels the benefit from the airport’s success. In addition to supporting initiatives such as those run by Bromley FC and Bromley Rugby Club, through our Community Fund, we support a range of local charities and organisations and have contributed more than £100,000 since 2015.

The Women’s Team’s season starts on Sunday 18th August, with their first home league game on Sunday 15th September. For more information, visit Bromley Football Club’s website.
