Celebrations at local care home as Mayor opens new suites

An Orpington care home celebrated the launch of its newly refurbished suites with a very special guest.

The Care UK team at Foxbridge House, on Sevenoaks Road, held a special ceremony to officially re-open its newly refurbished suites with the Mayor of Bromley, Councillor Mike Botting, and Mayoress, Councillor Kim Botting, cutting the ribbon.

The Mayor and Mayoress spent the rest of the afternoon talking to the residents about the history of Orpington and their favourite places in the local area.

The home’s renovation included the redecoration of lounges and kitchens on the nursing and dementia suites, as well as a refurbished cinema, salon, bar and café on the ground floor. Each room has been thoughtfully designed to provide beautifully appointed accommodation that promotes the creation of close-knit communities within the home.

Also attending the launch was Fran Flin, who the Foxbridge House team named their ‘local hero’ following a competition to find a local person who always goes above and beyond for their community. Fran was presented with a £500 cheque by the Mayor and team members at the home for her work as a former firefighter at Orpington fire station and continued community work hosting exercise classes and sporting events.

Stella Barnes, Home Manager at Foxbridge House, said: “It was wonderful to see residents celebrating and toasting Foxbridge House’s special milestone, and to have the Mayor and Mayoress of Bromley and our newly crowned local hero, Fran, join us for our party really was the cherry on the cake!

“We have built a warm, welcoming community here at Foxbridge House since we opened in 2013, with everything in place so we can provide the highest standards of personalised care. We are extremely proud of the refurbishment, where every single detail has been carefully considered to create a high-quality, luxury care home to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives.”
