We wouldn’t dream of driving our cars for years on end without a regular service, so why do we expect our bodies to keep performing without getting the once over from a health expert?
Mytime Active is now offering free Health Assessments for all its members – a 45-minute, full-body check, providing a confidential analysis of your overall health and fitness.
Carried out by Mytime Active’s fully qualified fitness team, the Health Assessments include height, weight and waist measurements, as well as BMI, blood pressure and a manual pulse rhythm check. Body fat, muscle mass, body water and bone mass measurements are also noted, along with metabolic age and physical activity levels. From this, the team can put together a free personal activity programme or offer Personal Training/Coaching.
For added peace of mind, customers can also book in for one of Mytime Active’s Health Assessment+ checks. Similar to the NHS Health Checks, they include everything in the Health Assessment, but with the addition of a small blood sample to check cholesterol levels and diabetes and cardiovascular risk.
Diane Friday, Active Lifestyles Programme Manager for Mytime Active, explains: “The Health Assessment+ is similar to the NHS Health Check and so is ideal for anyone that doesn’t qualify for that because they’re outside the 40-74 age bracket or suffering from a pre-existing condition, like hypertension, kidney disease or high cholesterol, which means they are already under medical supervision, but would like more frequent checks for their own peace of mind. It’s also great for someone who has a family history of diabetes or cardiovascular disease and wants to know more about their risks and what they can do about them.”
The social enterprise carries out around 200 Health Assessments each month, which are free to all Mytime Active members or available for a small fee for Pay As You Go customers, whilst the Health Assessment+ is £36.75 for subscribed members, £45.36 for Pay As You Go members and £51.03 for non-members.

Diane Friday continues: “If we can flag up and proactively tackle a risk factor, such as an irregular rhythm when taking their pulse or a high blood pressure reading, our Health Assessment and Health Assessment+ checks could ultimately save a person’s life.
“Dependent on the results, we also provide lifestyle advice regarding physical activity, diet, nutrition and general wellbeing, as well as giving guidance on how to improve and reduce risk factors. We can also refer on to other services if appropriate, such as our health programmes, HeartSmart, for those diagnosed or living with a heart condition and Fresh Start, for people recovering from illness or living with a long term medical condition.
“The Health Assessments can be carried out at any of our sites and we recommend they are repeated every six to twelve weeks to track progress.”
As an extension of the Health Assessments and Health Assessment+, Bromley Council partnered with Mytime Active to deliver NHS Health Checks for all its staff over the age of 40, including the Mayor of Bromley, who visited the Civic Centre to have his own health check with the Mytime Active team. The programme saw more than 300 council staff undergo the NHS Health Check.
