Views sought regarding Walnuts Leisure Centre

Bromley Council is encouraging those across the borough to help shape proposals for the Walnuts Leisure Centre and West Wickham Leisure Centre by completing an online survey.

A number of focus group sessions, both in person and online, will be held in April to discuss what is achievable at the sites. Those interested in attending such sessions should indicate their interest through the survey when asked.

The Walnuts Leisure Centre is an important part of Orpington and its redevelopment could provide an opportunity to create modern facilities to a standard befitting a major town centre.

Councillor Yvonne Bear, Executive Councillor for Renewal, Recreation and Housing said: “I encourage all those with an interest in these leisure centres to take part in this early engagement so we can ensure views from local communities are properly considered in any proposals that come forward. I know how important these leisure centres are to local people, which is why it is key that we get sufficient resident feedback at this early stage so we can align our plans with local priorities.”

Specialists in Leisure Centre development Alliance Leisure have been appointed to carry out initial engagement.

The deadline to complete the initial leisure centre surveys is midday on 27 March. As plans evolve, Bromley Council will share further information.
