Orpington's Coronation Celebration


Orpingtonians are invited to a royal celebration marking a momentous occasion in British history as King Charles III is crowned.

Proceedings at Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace will be on the big screen with live music, entertainment, and activities in Market Square - in a free event organised by Orpington 1st and supported by Perrys Chartered Accountants, Chantler Kent Investments, and McDonald's Orpington.

On the morning of Saturday 6th May 2023 their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort will arrive at Westminster Abbey in procession from Buckingham Palace, known as ‘The King’s Procession’. After the Service, Their Majesties will return to Buckingham Palace in a larger ceremonial procession, known as ‘The Coronation Procession’.

At Buckingham Palace, The King and The Queen Consort, accompanied by Members of the Royal Family will appear on the balcony to conclude the day’s ceremonial events. Residents are invited to watch this moment live on the big screen in Orpington's Market Square and join the celebration with entertainment for all the family.
